JANNETTE MACKINNON

I was born in Uganda, Africa, and lived there for 5 years until we moved back to Canada.  I tried so hard to fit into normal.  Yet often heard “you’re so weird”, “you’re not normal”, “what planet did you come from?”  I tried to meet all those ‘normal’ expectations – an excellent university education, a fulfilling career, a successful marriage, and a mortgage on a gorgeous home.  Yet by the age of 31, all of that came apart and I collapsed into a weeping puddle.
